Ms. Phuong is a Senior Research Associate at the Center for Population Health Sciences, Hanoi University of Public Health, Vietnam with a major in epidemiology of non-communicable diseases. Her primary research focus on the implementation of tobacco control policies in Vietnam, a critical public health issue in a rapidly developing Southeast Asian nation. Specifically, she aims to investigate the challenges and opportunities in implementing and enforcing comprehensive tobacco control measures in Vietnam, considering the country’s unique social, economic, and cultural context. She also collaborates with the Vietnamese government, especially Ministry of Health – Vietnam Tobacco Control Fund, and diverse health stakeholders who are aligned in their concerns and interests regarding tobacco control efforts in Vietnam like The Union, Vital Strategies, TCFK. Further, she is also in charge of co-investigator for the project of examining e-cigarettes and HTPs use among middle- and high-school students in Vietnam in 2023/24. Along with the project management, she published around 12 peer-reviewed articles on tobacco use and various aspects of risk factors in Vietnam.
