Project description
Incidence of early-onset colorectal cancer in increasing globally, but the cause for this increase is unclear. However, in populations without widely available colorectal cancer screening, such as in Mexico, concurrent increases in incidence rates are observed for both early-onset and later-onset colorectal cancer. Using medical records, mortality databases, and existing cohort data, we plan to investigate the associations between known and suspected risk factors with risk and survival from early-onset and later-onset colorectal cancer in Mexico. Additionally, there may be opportunities to conduct qualitative interviews for planning new sample collections within colorectal cancer patients.
