Dr. Portillo-Romero Alejandra, MD., ScD., participates as Co-Investigator and clinical coordinator of the Clinical Trials: “Ninovalent vaccine for the prevention of persistent oral infection in people living with HIV, Brazil, Mexico and Puerto Rico” and “Optimization of the screening of cervical cancer among women living with HIV in Latin American (LAC) countries”.
It participates in the US, Latin American and Caribbean HPV-Associated Cancer Prevention Clinical Trials Network (ULACNet), funded by the NIH and US National Cancer Institutes.
Within her professional experience, she has worked as a co-investigator in various trials related to HPV vaccination and detection, mainly in more vulnerable populations: men who have sex with men, transgender women, and sex workers. She has also participated as a teacher of the master of science in epidemiology of the National Institute of Public Health and as director and advisor of thesis of students enrolled in the postgraduate programs of the National Institute of Public Health.
